S05.E07: Blindsided - Below Deck

Nico has lost his damn mind. I want to like him, and I am not really sure why, but he always ruins it. Look, I get his feelings about EJ. That dude is a total douche. His hand gestures alone, during that pre-charter pep talk, would make me want to put a gun to my head. But I am not sure why Nico thinks he can demand the dude hand over Bosun to him. Is he insane????

And I really don't like where things are going with him and Bri. Spending the whole day together, rubbing sand off her butt, talking about wanting to kiss her. Sounds like he's going to blame it on his girlfriend for being "clingy", when she probably just would like to be able to talk to her boyfriend who's halfway around the world. He's gross and Bri's gross.

Matt once again got all absorbed in a personal problem and flubbed dinner (dessert?). But I will say this about him - he can take criticism. He listened to Kate, he made adjustments, and he knocked it out of the park the second night. They seem to work really well together and are probably the only crew members I actually like right now. Oh, and hats off to Bruno for being an amazing sous chef!

I've got to say, I didn't like these guests. They weren't overly demanding or rude, but there was just something about them. I didn't like the way they were all gathered together, discussing which job each person does, and then Leigh Ann said Kate needed to "eat more". Maybe your husband needs to eat LESS. And then when they were waiting on Matt to serve dinner, someone complained - "come on, boat people". They had every right to be irritated (although, I think they agreed on 830 dinner, but sat down early?), but "boat people"? That rubbed me wrong.

I also am just not a fan of asking for theme this and theme that. The YACHT is the theme. Asking for specific foods is one thing. But there's something about these silly themes that bothers me; it's almost demeaning. Like they want the crew to not just serve them, but entertain them - in a very circus-y kind of way. I don't know. I just don't like it.
